Task Force MeetingsStudents from the various MSP schools across the county take part in the task force meetings every month at the MCEA building in Rockville, Maryland. At the task force meetings, students come together as a student-led movement and brainstorm action plans to tackle the achievement gap. Students also plan and carry out a yearly retreat bringing together students from all throughout the county.

Yearly Leadership RetreatsStudents from the many MSP schools gather to discuss possible solutions to close the opportunity gap in MCPS. At the retreat, task force students lead workshops on topics such as student advocacy, analysis of the achievement gap, plans for the future, stereotypes, leadership. The retreat cultivates leadership skills, builds community and inspires students to become agents for change in their schools and wider community.

Summer internshipOne member of each high schools MSP participates in an intensive summer internship. Interns go through an application process. During the summer program, interns work from July-August, creating action plans to better improve the school system and receiving specific training on grassroots organizing.
